GSC data by month

Steps to show GSC (Google Search Console Clicks & Impressions by month, instead of by day.

Google Looker Studio is required to do this, but it is simple and free.

  1. Open Google Looker Studio
  2. Add GSC Data Resource to Google Looker Studio
  3. Create a Time Series chart
  4. Update the “dimension” to be “Date”.
  5. Click the pencil icon next to the “Date”
  6.  Click “Data Type”
  7. Select “Date & Time” > “Year Month”
  8. This will show the data points by month
  9. Now you can update the X axis title to display in whatever date format you need. We normally select “Custom Date Format” and then enter “MMM y”.
 
This will allow you to automatically display you GSC charts by month, instead of by day. See our other tutorial on how to set the date range to automatically update every day with the specific date range you want.
